| | I haven't posted a blog here in ages!
So, today I woke up and drove to Columbus, Ohio where we have a terminal. My load had way too much time on it and I didn't want to sit on it for 3 days before I could deliver, so I needed to drop it somewhere. I asked dispatch if I could drop it at Columbus but they said it wouldn't help me as there's no freight in the area. So, I drove to East Saint Lewis where I found a drop yard we use. Having driven 450 miles, leaving 350 to go on the load, I asked dispatch to let me drop it here. They said okay and gave me a load going to Delaware.
Well, I dropped the load at the drop lot and tried to find an empty trailer, but there were none to be found. :( There are some refrigerated units, but asking dispatch if I could use one resulted in "ask again in the morning, P&G isn't answering their phone." Proctor & Gamble might not like me using a reefer, but it's all the same to me! I could just set it for a nice comfortable 60F and whatever they load me with would be just fine. It's headed for a Walmart distribution center, and I doubt they will care one way or the other. But, I have to wait until morning anyway, so whatever. This load doesn't pick up until, (that's how we say, "I'm scheduled to pick up this load at"), 2pm. I could go visit the St. Lewis Arch! :) Maybe find a brew-pub? Bah.
I'm kinda tired, so I think I'll go to bed now.
